Course Description

In our rapidly changing society, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) issues are increasingly present in classrooms. What do teachers need to know about GLBT issues? Discuss the need to interact with GLBT students and parents. Appropriately address disrespectful behavior targeted at GLBT people and those who are perceived as such. Issues include: family, the law, psychology, history, and curricular inclusion. Receive current information and useful strategies that will help make classrooms safer and more respectful for all students and families. Target audience: teachers K-12.
