Abstract

The research topic addressed in this project was Social and Emotional Learning: A toolkit for meeting preschool student’s needs. It documents one teacher’s development of a website that provides important information and relevant Social and Emotional Learning resources. The project was created with educators, parents/guardians, and preschool students in mind. The project was designed with the Understanding by Design Framework (Wiggins & McTighe, 2011) in mind, as well as while taking into consideration the website criteria set forth by Dalhousie University (2016). Major components of the project involve making Social and Emotional Learning Resources easier to access for families. The author outlines the construction of the project and literature related to the history of Social Emotional Learning, as well as existing resources and curricula.
