Abstract
The research question addressed in this capstone: What makes the most effective reading instruction curriculum for first grade? This capstone researches the history of teaching reading to elementary students, different methods used to teach reading and the mechanics needed to teach reading effectively. This capstone uses eleven literary sources related to the subject and three interviews with teachers who teach reading to kindergarten, first and second graders.
