Course Description
TOPICS: Forms of the Sudden In Forms of the Sudden students will consider various modes of writing including prose poems, sudden fiction, brief non-fiction and plain old paragraphs. We’ll read and write together and perform a variety of workshops and exercises. The class is designed to be generative and exploratory at the start then move toward the development of individual projects. Considerations of brevity, genre and theme will include an exploration of the modern fairy tale, documentary poetics and lyric essays in miniature, but also hybrid and unclassifiable writing. Instructor: John Colburn
