Abstract
Formerly exuberant teachers feeling burnout is hurting the teaching profession, and therefore the future of education. Why are teachers suffering from burnout? Is there something that can be done to help the problem? I studied literature about teacher burnout to find some reoccurring contributors. I conducted focus groups of teachers who have felt burnout at some point in their careers, and from this, summarized ideas of what educators can do to prevent their own burnout, what school systems can do to prevent teacher burnout, and what lawmakers can do to help the school systems prevent burnout. I uncovered suggestions to prevent teachers from feeling burnout in order to keep strong, enthusiastic teachers in the classroom.
