Abstract
The research question addressed in this capstone was, how and for whom are tools like graphic organizers useful in the study of second language literature at the undergraduate level? The purpose of this inquiry into literacy-building tools was to address a void in available appropriate textbooks by propelling the creation of effective pre-reading, para-reading, and post-reading aids specifically corresponding to ten Latin American narratives. This capstone synthesizes relevant research on the topic and presents as its product the curriculum-enhancing tools created with the research base in mind. The products, largely graphic organizers, are presented herein, accompanied by explanations of their effective use in a seniorlevel undergraduate Spanish language literature course.
