Abstract
This study is a case study focused on the daily school experience of one male ELL that has also been identified as having a learning disability. It explores the school experiences of this high school student. An important part of this study included a look at the process used for identification of a student for special education services. Also included as part of the study are observations in his mainstream and special education classrooms, interviews and questionnaires with teachers, and examination of his initial special education assessments. Results included an overall theme of necessary communication and collaboration between all teachers involved with this student, as well as the importance of the role of the ESL teacher.
