Abstract
The research question addressed is Using Digital Tools to Motivate Students to Write in Secondary English as a Second Language (ESL) Classroom. The motivating factor for this capstone was the struggle with ESL students on their writing assignments. This capstone addresses writing instruction in middle school ESL classroom. It details various digital tools that could be used for writing instruction and addresses whether these tools are motivating to students. The capstone develops curriculum projects that utilize a variety of digital tools to produce multi-genre projects that are aligned with language and content standards.
