Abstract
In the past few years, research has been done on the need to use informational text in the primary grades. However, studies have shown that even though teachers are aware of the need to use informational text, very few teachers expose their students to this genre. The author created a four week curriculum designed to expose second grade students to informational text structure along with a tool kit with comprehension strategies that can be used with any piece of informational text.
