Abstract

The author was influenced by lack of diversity in her Latin classes and sought to share the academic benefits of Latin to a wider range of students. The research question addressed in this capstone is, how do I make Latin a more beneficial and desirable option for students with learning disabilities? The author includes research on learning disabilities, vocabulary acquisition, executive function process skills, Latin methodologies, and Universal Design for Learning in order to create a middle school Latin curriculum for students with learning disabilities. The author designs ready to use activities and materials that promote vocabulary acquisition and executive function process skills.
