Abstract

This study was a result of the research question, How can fourth grade teachers enhance vocabulary instruction using the SMART Board? During my study, I taught vocabulary lessons on the SMART Board in an effort to meet our district goal and discover the impact of vocabulary lessons on motivation, academic progress, and discussions when used in combination with the SMART Board. After completing the study, I found that results were similar to what they were in isolation to each other, yet noticed how well they suited one another when the educator created interactive lessons and the SMART Board was functioning properly. Additional observational data surfaced as well.
