Abstract
I will research the Reading Recovery and the Reading Corps of MN reading programs, I will be focusing on participating students reading data collected since the beginning of 08-09 academic school year and monitoring the students reading progress throughout the year once they are exited/discontinued from the program. I will examine teaching techniques and strategies that Reading Recovery and Reading Corps of MN teachers use which lead to the student's reading success. I will question whether or not the Reading Recovery and the Reading Corps of MN programs are the reason behind the students reading achievements or if good classroom teaching by itself could be enough for student reading success. I will compare the participating Reading Recovery and Reading Corps of MN students reading progress to other non participating readers whose reading level and ability was initially identical to the participating in Reading Recovery and Reading Corps of MN students.
