Abstract
Change in education is often difficult and ineffective. My school and district began to implement Professional Learning Communities in our schools. I began to look at what the district, school and I were doing to be successful in the implementation of PLCs. During the research I came across systems thinking as an approach to looking at a system to find variables to best leverage the system to answer the question: why is the implementation of PLCs too low. The result of the research and system map led me to the conclusion that through effective leadership the system would have the highest probability of effectively implementing Professional Learning Communities.
