Abstract
The research question addressed was, how effectively will teaching problem-solving strategies increase students' ability to appropriately problem solve throughout the day? This action research project was based on the implementation of various social problem-solving strategies. A key influence was the Responsive Classroom approach. Some strategies stemmed from this approach and were joined with others which are research-based. The author used multiple pieces of literature to support the strategies chosen for implementation. Classroom meetings and role-play to name a couple were then woven into the classroom schedule. The data collected showed successes and raised questions.
