Abstract
This capstone was created to help secondary educators identify the different mental illnesses that come through the school setting on a regular basis and the referral process for helping the student. Literary research has shown that the major mental illness that are affecting high school students are attention deficit hyperactivity, depression, bipolar, eating disorders, and suicide. Secondary education staff members of a west suburban school district took a survey to tell whether or not they are aware of mental health and are able to know the warning signs and the process of referral. A quick guide to mental health flip chart was created to support the secondary educators identify mental illness and the school personnel that are in charge of the referral process.
