Abstract
The research question addressed is, how have my experiences in alternative education shaped me as an emerging educational leader? The basis for this capstone is a reflection and self-study of several critical events in my career and an analysis of how these events influenced me and fit into the context of the ethos surrounding education. Using the method of autoethnography, narratives of these experiences are connected to current research literature on educational leadership. These connections create the foundation to examine where I have been and where I am going as an emerging leader in alternative education.
