Abstract
The research question addressed in this project was, what actions and knowledge best enable parents of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder to attain and provide effective care? The motivating factor for this capstone was helping families with children on the autism spectrum. The capstone describes raising a child with autism and the current research on autism. An autism resource book for caregivers was developed and presented as the heart of the capstone project. The author describes the development of the book and the responses to that book from others. The capstone discusses the implications and limitations of an autism resource book and describes the potential of autism research.
