Abstract
The purpose of this research project is to improve communication and find ways in my job as a special educator to enhance collaboration between colleagues, parents, and physicians and that is how I came to the following question: What are some effective communication strategies for a special educator when in collaboration with colleagues, parents, and physicians to optimally provide for special education students in a high school setting? Through my research I have been able to determine that communication and collaboration is important to special education teachers, general education teachers, parents and physicians. I will continue to strive to improve communication with colleagues, parents and physicians in my job to provide optimal services for the students that I work with. My research findings have positive implications for others who lives have been touched by children with special needs.
