Abstract
This capstone examines the effects of sustaining physical education in the elementary grade levels. It takes a close look at why physical education is not an integral part of an elementary school's schedule and why it is being minimized across grade levels. The main focus of this capstone is to determine methods of promoting physical activity in elementary age children given the limited amount of physical education they receive in a school week. It also focuses on encouraging children to make healthy choices in their lifestyle. Lastly, the capstone analyzes if there is a correlation between academics and physical activity.
