Abstract
This capstone is a curriculum development project integrating social skills, character education and conflict resolution skills. The author was motivated to pursue this project based on the students she had in her classroom and the type of skills that needed to be taught and reinforced. Key influences included colleagues and former and current students. In the review of the literature, Thomas Lickona emerged as a leader in the field of character education. The author looked at published curriculums and components of each to create her own curriculum. The curriculum is comprised of 30 lessons to be completed over a six week period. There is one unifying question which ties all of the lessons together, which is How does this make our classroom a better place?
