Abstract
This capstone is looking at the affects of youth basketball and all that comes with the ever increasing time commitment, parent involvement, injuries, and skill development in youth basketball. It will compare and contrast the many issues of youth basketball to high school basketball in a Minnesota school district. Personal interviews with youth coaches, high school coaches, former players, and parents will be asked a series of questions concerning both youth and high school basketball. As I coach basketball and see everything it seems in lower level basketball increase, I wondered how the amount of games, youth coaching experience and the amount of time that it seems to play youth basketball today what the affects were by the time these young athletes reach the high school level.
