Abstract
This paper is a case study documenting the development and community impact of a Minnesota biomes garden at Richfield Intermediate School in Richfield Minnesota. At a time of budget cuts, standardized testing stress, and changing urban demographics with increasing ESL and refugee populations, the garden project has dramatically boosted school morale and community involvement, and has become a living lab for studying natural ecosystems and environmental education at the center of this urban school.
