Abstract
In this collection of four picture books and a middle grade excerpt, readers are asked to consider HOW? How can a duck with terrible luck become the luckiest duck at the county fair? How can a witch who prefers not to use magic be accepted by her witchy sisters? How can a kid take a house full of monsters to the library? How can a band of hungry pirates be satisfied when the treasure they find isn’t what they hoped for? And finally, how can a kitten (named Elvis) find home and family with a hamster, a goldfish, and a human boy?
