Abstract
My Barely Year is a Middle Grade novel following the life of Andy Ahmen during the year of her father's cancer diagnosis. Within the grounds of a small Minnesota town of Greenwald, she encounters hard questions and an introduction to a world where life is not simply beautiful. However, she finds a new beauty in the harder places where she learns true resilience.
