Abstract

The research question addressed in this project was, how can I design effective, standards-based projects for use in an eighth grade geography classroom? This capstone highlights one teacher's transition to teaching an eighth grade geography classroom with a focus on project learning. Following standards, three designed projects are presented as they will be used at the beginning of a school year. The author looks at elements of effective project design in order to create more effective projects.
