Course Description

Why is the ocean so big, so salty? How does it work? Start with simple questions and get to the complexity that is the ocean. The physical characteristics of the ocean and its related systems have framed its origin, incredible diversification of life, and amazing ecosystems, like coral reefs and mangrove forests. Explore how oceanographers investigate the role that symbiotic relationships and other biological adaptations have in the dynamics of oceans, a dynamic that is being threatened by human activities and consumption. Offered in partnership with the American Museum of Natural History. Accelerated online schedule. Please register 2 weeks prior to course start date to ensure receipt of course materials. Target audience: educators 6-adult. Note: Shortly before the course begins, you will receive an email directly from AMNH providing information on how to access the online course.
