Course Description

Learn about the newest genome research and the ethical issues raised by genetic enhancements, modified foods, and cloning. How will our growing knowledge of the genome affect our health, our societies, and the natural world? How do heredity and environment interact? Explore a scientific frontier: the investigation and application of information contained in genetic codes. Examine the tools and techniques used in a molecular biology lab, learn about the Human Genome Project, and discuss the related ethical issues. Offered in partnership with the American Museum of Natural History. Accelerated online schedule. Please register 2 weeks prior to start date to ensure receipt of course materials. Target audience: educators 6-adult. Note: Shortly before the course begins, you will receive an email directly from AMNH providing information on how to access the online course.
