Course Description
This course will examine effective classroom practices that support students in learning academic content. We will investigate the place of academic standards in the curriculum. Instruction is the art and science of teaching and how teachers plan instruction determines how students will engage with and become proficient with curriculum content and standards. The course will include a study research-based effective instructional strategies, explore the role of formative assessment in instruction, and briefly cover differentiation as part of instruction. Participants will also focus on the critical role instructional leadership has on curriculum and instruction in schools and districts.
