Course Description
Goals: In this multi-genre class students will expand their knowledge of themselves as writers, of the craft and process of writing, and of the literary marketplace. They also will continue to increase their understanding of the relationship between writer and reading. Content: Students read, discuss, and apply elements of the craft from the reading to their own creative work. They research the work of a writer they admire and present that work to the class. Each student writes and revises a piece of work in their chosen genre. The course combines discussion, reading and writing assignments, student presentations, and practice. Taught: Annually Prerequisites: One of the following Advanced courses: WRIT 5110, 5120, or 5130. Creative Writing major in senior year or consent of the department chair. Credits: 4
