Course Description
Goals: An introduction to the basic topics of mathematical probability theory, in preparation for a course in mathematical statistics such as MATH 5810. Content: Definition of probability, probability distributions (discrete and continuous), expectation, random variables and functions of random variables. Sampling distributions and applications. Taught: Fall term Prerequisites: MATH 1180, MATH 3320 recommended. Credits: 4
