Course Description
Goals: To help students understand more about the ways communication functions in individual face-to-face interactions, including factors that influence interpretation, relationship development, and conflict managements. Students have opportunities to examine their own individual communication interaction patterns in interpersonal situations. Content: Examination of communication and self-image, impression management, self-disclosure, verbal and nonverbal codes, listening, relationship development and maintenance, conflict in face-to-face situations, interpersonal interaction and social media, analysis of communication interactions. Attention is given to theoretical as well as practical applications. Taught: Annually Prerequisites: None Credits: 4
