Course Description
This discussion-based course will introduce students to a critical philosophical analysis of a number of significant ongoing ethical debates and dilemmas in contemporary society. Topics will include: Abortion, Euthanasia, Animal Rights, Civil Rights, Global Poverty, Environmental Ethics, and Terrorism. We will focus on both the philosophical arguments that structure these ethical debates as well as the status of the current laws and societal beliefs that inform them.
