Course Description
This course is designed to acquaint students with British theatre and the ways it reflects British history, culture and tradition. Experiential in design, the course provides a number of different opportunities for participants to gain an understanding of British history, participate in the culture and be a part of daily life in Britain. At the center of this course is a sequence of ten to eleven plays which are representative of the range of theatre in Britain. These plays will form the "laboratory" for participants to sharpen their critical skills and begin forming ideas about the way British theatre has been developed and the ideas that it conveys. Participants should be aware that the academic and behavioral policies set by the Off-Campus program office apply to this study abroad course.
