Goals: To explore and discuss issues that impact forensic scientists, affect the practice of forensic science, and the admissibility of scientific evidence and expert testimony in a court of law. Content: Challenges to the scientific basis and reliability of forensic science disciplines; key legal rulings on the admissibility of scientific evidence and expert testimony; scientific working groups and standards of practice; laboratory accreditation; professional certification; and the ethical practices and responsibilities of forensic scientists.
