Course Description
Goals: To become familiar with the kinds of explanations and methods anthropologists have used and/or are currently using to analyze cultural phenomena. To develop critical thinking. Content: Theoretical statements and exemplary analyses covering a spectrum of approaches employed by nineteenth and twentieth century anthropologists. Taught: Annually. Prerequisite: At least two 3000-level anthropology courses.
