Course Description
Writing for Kids and Teens: Exploring the Genres In this writing intensive course, students will explore fiction writing for children and young adults. Each week we will concentrate on a genre--picture book, middle grade, young adult--and students will work to finish a project in each genre. For the final project, students will choose one of their works for workshop and will incorporate revision and craft technique for a polished final project. By the end of the course, students will have read important literature in each genre and will understand the basic techniques and forms for writing successfully for children and young adults. Instructor: Megan Atwood Prerequisite: ENG 1110 or its equivalent
