Course Description
Goals: To foster the discovery of vocation through skills development, active learning, reflection, and the formation of supportive relationships. To engage in an ongoing process of inquiry, exploration, and decision making around the question, "What will I do with my life?" Content: Structured exploration of vocation, including self-assessment, resume development, practice interviewing, and discussion of readings. Students in the Bridges Scholars course are assigned to a Bridges Team to encourage building relationships, developing trust, forming community, and strengthening personal responsibility as elements in the discovery of vocation. Students develop and share a personal statement of vocation, reflecting their exploration of the activities or occupations toward which they feel the deepest commitments of time, energy, and passion.
