Course Description
Goals: Introduction to research methodologies and the ways that graduate school research groups operate. The intent is to foster close student/faculty interaction as these parties join together in a research venture. Content: Introduction to research methods including: survey of relevant literature, experimental design, conducting a series of experiments, and analysis and presentation of data. Students enrolled in the course will work independently and with the instructor, and also attend biweekly laboratory group meetings. Students will learn research techniques and conduct investigations in a focused area of biology to be decided by the instructor. Taught: Annually. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.
