Course Description

Develop an understanding of educational policy at the classroom, department, school, district, local, state, or federal level. Study literacy reform efforts through inquiry, reflection and analysis. Learn how to influence policy and become an agent of change. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: • Identify how policy decisions impact teaching practices • Explain why advocacy by educators is needed to create informed education policy at local, state, and national levels.
