Course Description
Goals: To help interested students develop research skills through individualized independent study activities with one of the Spanish professors. Topics will be of mutual interest and research could potentially lead to student presentations at the yearly National Council for Undergraduate Research (NCUR) meetings. In the past several undergraduate research projects have also been given by students at professional conferences and later submitted for publication. Content: Primary research on various topics, literary or non-literary in nature, in collaboration with a faculty member interested in the area chosen by the student. Topics could include literature, culture, political and economic issues, films, or any other aspect of Hispanic or Latino culture. Taught: Annually. Recommended prerequisite: SPAN 3900 or 3910, or equivalent. Credits: 4
