Course Description
This course exposes students to the diversity of contemporary Spain and provides a comprehensive view of the country through its history, geography, visual arts, politics, sociology, and music, as well as its people, languages, traditions, and daily customs. Introduction the Spanish Culture and Civilization attempts to bring to life the everyday experiences that shape national identity: history of the family, private life, perceptions of race and gender, and manifestations of popular culture, yet also reviews and questions what is understood as traditional and Spanish history and culture.
