Goals: An introduction to algebraic structures. Content: An introduction to algebraic structures with an emphasis on the group axioms. Topics include normal subgroups, factor groups, and homomorphisms. Examples will be drawn from number theory, the complex numbers, geometric constructions, and the symmetric group.
