Course Description
This First-Year Seminar will examine the role of technology and media on physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development by addressing the following questions: How is technology and media changing the way we learn, think and focus? What is the impact of media and technology on education? What are the positive and negative influences of technology and media on our social interactions and identity development? Does technology and media have a negative or positive effect on our mental and physical health? We will answer these questions by critically examining assigned texts, articles, videos via discussions, writing assignments, and individual and group presentations.
