Course Description
The vast majority of bullying in schools stems from either perceived sexual orientation, gender expression, or both. This course will focus on fostering an environment where all students feel welcomed and safe. It will also provide strategies for creating a gender-expansive classroom as well as a framework for teaching and embracing family diversity. This course will provide skills to respond to anti-gay and gender-related comments often associated with bullying. For students interested in completing a Bullying Prevention Certificate, EDUC 7140 is a prerequisite for this course. If you have not yet completed EDUC 7140, you may also co-enroll in that course while enrolled in this course.
