Course Description
Fluency involves reading rate, accuracy, expression, and perseverance, and it is a key aspect of reading instruction that is often overlooked in instruction. Learn to address the needs of students who are unable to read words quickly, automatically, and accurately enough to enable them to comprehend what they read. Examine the research base and gain hands-on ideas for fluency assessment - tools such as benchmark, screening, placement, and progress monitoring - and instructional strategies to promote fluency. Target audience: educators K-12.
