Course Description
Goals: To allow teacher candidates to practice and to demonstrate competence with effective assessment and teaching methodology within middle and secondary mathematics classrooms. Second in a two-course sequence. Content: Planning curriculum that incorporates national, state and local standards; implementing a variety of instructional strategies to address the needs of diverse learners; using and implementing formative and summative assessments. This course includes 30 hours of clinical experience outside of scheduled class time - dates, times, and school sites to be determined. Target audience: 5-12 Mathematics licensure candidates Taught: Spring term only Prerequisite: GED 7879 with a grade of B- or better (EDU 3260/GED 7867 is recommended) Credits: 4
