Course Description
This course will explore children's relationships with animals inside and outside the classroom. Animals can help children develop feelings of empathy and social connection in unique and special ways. Careful, thoughtfully planned experiences with animals can also deepen children's learning. Includes readings, group discussions, research, and self-directed field observations (instructor will assist in selecting sites). Integrate personal/professional experience with course material and reflection on readings and activities.
