Abstract
Anxiety-related disorders, collectively, are the most common mental health conditions affecting Americans. Over the last ten years, healthcare providers have seen a 17% spike in children’s fear. Less than 1% of children will seek anxiety therapy the year their symptoms begin. This capstone project uses a combination of research and statistics to help answer the research question, What do educators need to know about anxiety to best support students ? The research conducted through this project concluded that anxiety-related disorders and mental health conditions are a growing issue in America. Educators need to be prepared with knowledge of the subject of anxiety as well as be prepared to implement best practices within their classrooms in order to best support students. The project involved is a website that provides educators with information and resources on the different anxiety-related disorders along with best practices. This website aims to help educators gain a new understanding of anxiety-related disorders in order to best support students.
