Abstract
Education has evolved rapidly since the introduction of technology, and educators have had to adapt alongside these changes. This capstone explores how these changes have impacted schools and answers the question, how can middle school teachers integrate technology in their classrooms to facilitate student engagement and learning? There are many best practices that educators should employ to improve student engagement and learning. Among these include teachers having open attitudes, appropriate training, and barriers removed, using technology to engage students in gamification, and using technology intentionally. When used together, educators can find success in using technology in their classrooms with various platforms including: Kahoot, Lucidchart, Notion, Habitica, Weje, interactive whiteboards, Blooket, and Peardeck.
