Abstract
The research question addressed in this project was: What are the perceptions of elementary teachers in District X with regard to Mondo's Shared Reading Curriculum? The motivating factor was the minimal growth in literacy by students reading below grade level after one year of instruction with the district mandated curriculum. The author documented the attitudes and reflections of participants regarding the implementation and effectiveness of Mondo's Shared Reading Curriculum. She discusses themes of commonality and concludes that: 1) there were significant limitations to effective implementation of the curriculum, 2) the limitations hinder student learning, and 3) concomitant factors influence teaching and learning
